Icelandic inspired socks: like the Old ones, the socks are very plain, knitted top down with a rib cuff, a heel flap, a gusset and a star toe. A few short rows are added at the instep to make them more comfortable. The calf was shaped along a line of purl sts, interpreted here with an eyelet pattern. All the embellishments it seems was going in the woven bands that were braided around the legs to hold the socks in place: it is interpreted here as a stranded motif pattern with typical motifs and initials: that you can make your own by adding your own initials from the Old Icelandic alphabet.
