Icicle Social Scarf
Cascading snowflakes edge a lacy scarf that adds a cool winter look to both formal and informal attire. The snowflakes are made first with a join-as-you go technique, then the scarf is worked from one snowflake panel to the desired length and finished off by joining the second snowflake panel.
Difficulty Easy
Finished Size 5.5” wide and about 72” long, blocked.
Yarn Manos del Uruguay Fino (distributed by Fairmount Fibers) (70% merino wool, 30% silk; 450 yd/3.5 oz): #403 silhouette, 1 hank.
Hook Sizes F/5 (3.75 mm), G/6 (4.25 mm). Adjust hook size if necessary to obtain correct gauge.
Notions Yarn needle.
Gauge (3 tr in next ch-3 sp, ch 3, sc in next tr) 4 times and 9 rows = 4”, with larger hook, blocked.
Note Scarf ends are worked first. Motifs are joined as you go, working from tip to top and left to right. Scarf body is worked from one end outward. Second end is joined at end of body.
