Icy Crystals
There are two options for this cowl, a traditional pattern with a chart, and a low visibility accessible way. The low visibility accessible version, with 22pt print in Arial. The large print/low visibility pattern contains written directions only; there are no charts or schematics.
The idea for this cowl came in the winter, sitting at my cabin, out on the prairie, watching the snow fall. With my cat firmly settled on my lap, I watched the falling snow outside the window, as the flakes caught the light, and then spun that light out into the darkness. There are no neighbours for a while, so the only light outside was the light from the house, and shone off each flake as it swirled away.
It’s knit with two colours of contrasting, fingering weight yarn, it uses 362 metres/ 396 yards total (approximately
181m/198yards of each colour). Feel free to use any other fingering weight yarn you like.
