I’d Rather Purl My Waves
Before Youtube, I thought that the whole world knits just like me, English Style. I remember the first time I saw someone knitting Continental I thought they were left handed. Before Ravelry, I thought that purling is everyone’s primary stitch. For the longest time I believed that the only way to produce garter is by purling every row.
After all the exposures to different knitters and patterns, I realized that I belong to a very small group of people who’d rather purl than knit and that’s not the worst part. The worst part is that all patterns are written for those who’d rather knit than purl as if we don’t exist.
As a result, I had to keep converting patterns for myself.
They say, be the change you’d like to see, so I decided to start writing patterns for those like me who’d rather purl than knit.
When you look at the featured shawl in this pattern you’d think its similar to any “Old Shale” pattern. Yes, the end results are the same but the stitches are different.
This enormous rectangular shawl took me years to finish but if you’re a product knitter you’d probably finish it in no time. It’s an easy meditative cozy project that produces a huge wrap that can be used as a blanket or even a pillow.
Enjoy!
