Idaho Sunset Cowl
The Idaho Sunset Edit was inspired by the most spectacular sunset I experienced after a magical day at Yellowstone National Park. The perfectly blended colors of the sunset inspired the collection’s feature design element of using stranded colorwork as a way to replicate the fading colors of the sunset. I’m calling it fade-work. Dimond Laine’s Birdie is the perfect pairing for these designs! It’s alpaca and silk fibers create a luxurious fabric with a halo reminiscent of the sunset colors melting into each other. The Idaho Sunset Edit includes an infinity cowl, triangular shawl, and short-sleeved sweater. I hope that knitting these patterns evokes memories of all of the spectacular sunsets that you have experienced!
The Idaho Sunset Cowl is provisionally cast on and worked as a tube in stockinette stitch with five alternating colors of Birdie that blend into each other using fade-work. When completed, both ends of the tube are grafted together to form an extremely lightweight infinity loop. There are no long floats to catch in the fade-work sections making this cowl ideal for any knitter! Choose your length! The Idaho Sunset Cowl pattern features instructions for both the double and single loop style.
