The Idaho Sunset Edit was inspired by the most spectacular sunset I experienced after a magical day at Yellowstone National Park. The perfectly blended colors of the sunset inspired the collection’s feature design element of using stranded colorwork as a way to replicate the fading colors of the sunset. I’m calling it fade-work. Dimond Laine’s Birdie is the perfect pairing for these designs! It’s alpaca and silk fibers create a luxurious fabric with a halo reminiscent of the sunset colors melting into each other. The Idaho Sunset Edit includes an infinity cowl, triangular shawl, and short-sleeved sweater. I hope that knitting these patterns evokes memories of all of the spectacular sunsets that you have experienced!

The Idaho Sunset Shawl is a top-down triangular shawl worked in stockinette stitch with two strands of Birdie held together. Knit on size 10 needles the shawl features fade-work and has a ribbed border. It is the perfect “sit and knit” project for advanced beginners and beyond. Choose any three colors and paint your own sunset!
