The Idaho Sunset Edit was inspired by the most spectacular sunset I experienced after a magical day at Yellowstone National Park. The perfectly blended colors of the sunset inspired the collection’s feature design element of using stranded colorwork as a way to replicate the fading colors of the sunset. I’m calling it fade-work. Dimond Laine’s Birdie is the perfect pairing for these designs! It’s alpaca and silk fibers create a luxurious fabric with a halo reminiscent of the sunset colors melting into each other. The Idaho Sunset Edit includes an infinity cowl, triangular shawl, and short-sleeved sweater. I hope that knitting these patterns evokes memories of all of the spectacular sunsets that you have experienced!

The Idaho Sunset Sweater (Spring Edition) is knit seamlessly from the top-down. This raglan sweater has short sleeves and features fade-work rugby stripes that highlight the fluffy texture of Dimond Laine’s Birdie. The relaxed fit combined with the weightless yarn makes this sweater easy, breezy and perfect for warmer weather!

Shortly after I finished the Idaho Sunset Sweater (Spring Edition) I knew I needed a Fall Edition. Knit in five colors instead of two, this long sleeve version allows you to explore your favorite color combinations! The Idaho Sunset Sweater is knit seamlessly from the top-down. It has raglan shaping, long blouson sleeves and a cropped length. The fade-work stripes showcase Dimond Laine’s Birdie, fading from one color to the next. The pattern includes both the short sleeve and long sleeve version allowing for complete customization! You may choose cropped length or full length, long sleeve or short sleeve, and can use as many colors as you wish!

Suggested ease range: 5-10” / 12.5-20 cm of positive ease.

Fit tip: To choose your size to knit, measure around your full bust, then add your desired amount of ease to that number. Choose the size closest to that number from the FINISHED MEASUREMENTS.
