Ideal Rectangle
This pattern is for an ideal crochet rectangle!
The rectangle is made in single crochet and is worked in rows (from the inside to the outside). I’ve also made sure that it has the correct number of stitches in each row to make it a mathematically ‘ideal’ rectangle. You can check out how I figured it out at my blog.
There are written instructions as well as a stitch diagram. The instructions are written so that you can make your rectangle as long as you want. You can stop at any row you like to make a smaller rectangle, or – once you get the hang of the pattern – continue crocheting to make a ginormous one!
Already know the dimensions/aspect ratio of the rectangle you want to make? In the pattern, I’ll explain how to determine the exact number of starting stitches and rows that you’ll need before you even start!
You could use this pattern to make some great placemats, or even a rug!
Have fun!
