Idlewild Wrap
This rectangle shawl, knit on the bias, was inspired by Idlewild, a place in Anne of Green Gables. “We call it Idlewild. Isn’t that a poetical name?” ~ Lucy Maud Montgomery.
The Main Colour of yarn was from the Tangled Poets PEI collection. The colourway of the yarn was inspired by the quote “Tomorrow is always fresh, with no mistakes in it.” ~ Lucy Maud Montgomery.
To showcase the beautiful variegated yarn I chose a simple variation on Seed Stitch, to have some texture but not take away from the colours speckled throughout the yarn. The solid colours I choose to do some simple lace stitches of flowers and butterflies. Things I imagine Anne and Diana might find in Idlewild.
