The stitch pattern on these socks reminded my friend of a mermaid’s tail, but of course a mermaid would have no need of socks. But if mermaids had feet, these socks would be perfect! The socks are worked top-down using a Strong heel. The stitch pattern is given as written instructions only.

The pattern is offered in three sizes, Small, Medium and Large, to fit a foot circumference 7” (18cm), 8”(20cm) and 9”(22.5cm) when worked to pattern tension of 8 st/1” (10cm) over stocking stitch.

You will need: 400 yards fingering weight sock yarn
2.25mm (US1) needles for working in the round
2 stitch markers
Darning needle

You need to be able to: work in the round using a suitable method for small circumferences (e.g. DPNs, magic loop, travelling loop), work Kitchener stitch (no directions in the pattern itself but there are plenty of online tutorials out there)
