Iglika means “primrose” in my native language. One of the early spring bloomers, wild primroses create abundant carpets of small flowers in pastel tones and as small and tender as they may look, they are vigorous and withstanding all weather challenges of local springtime!

Iglika is a playful granny square tote bag made from soft cotton yarn. Flower squares compose the front and the back, and plain (solid) squares make the sides and the bottom of the bag. When all squares are joined into a bag shape, the top is finished with single crochet in the round. Leather handles are optional, the pattern offers crocheted handles too.

The sample is made in a pastel color theme, but the pattern is a good base for a fun color play.

The pattern includes written and charted instructions.
