Ihmemaa (Wonderland) is an asymmetric triangle shaped shawl consisting of striped sections with garter stitch and simple one colored lace sections. The shawl has icord edges on each side.

Charts in this pattern are to be read from right to left at RS rows/left to right at WS rows and from the bottom up. There are both written and charted instructions for the lace sections and the sections can be knitted with only one of those options.

Size of this shawl is about 29.5 x 98.5 in (75 x 250 cm).

You’ll need:

• Fingering weight yarn in 3 different colors: color A: about 470 yd (425 m), color B: about 440 yd (400 m), color C: about 515 yd (470 m) My suggestion is that the colors should have more than a little contrast to each other. Also the colors A and C should be uni color, semi solid or tonal colored but with the color B you can go wild. Yarns used in the sample shawl in this pattern: A = Aara Yarn Mieli in colorway Jalo, B = Yarn by Stu Sock Stu in colorway Hogwart’s Express, C = Rva Silmusolmu Merino Sukkis in colorway Kabaree.
• Size 4 - 6 (3.5 - 4.0 mm) circular needle with at least 32 in (80 cm) cable. The needle size depends on your gauge.
• 1 stitch marker
• 1 safety pin
• Darning needle

Gauge:

Choose the needle size with which you’ll reach the gauge of 25 st or 19 rows/4 in (10 cm) knitted in garter stitch. You can knit this shawl with tighter or looser gauge but note that the change in gauge might affect the amount of yarn needed.

Ihmemaa on epäsymmetrinen kolmikulmion muotoinen huivi, jossa toistetaan ainaoikeita raitaosioita ja yksinkertaisia pitsiosioita. Jokaisella sivulla on icord-reunus.

Ohjeen kaaviot luetaan oikealta vasemmalle (OP KRS)/vasemmalta oikealle (NP KRS) ja alhaalta ylös. Pitsiosioihin on sekä kaaviot että tekstimuotoinen ohje.

Valmiin huivin koko on noin 75 x 250 cm.

Tarvitset:

• Fingering-vahvuista lankaa 3 eri värissä: väri A: noin 425 m, väri B: noin 400 m, väri C: noin 470 m. Huivin osiot näyttävät mielestäni parhailta, kun valitset sävyt, joiden välillä on jonkin verran kontrastia. Väreiksi A ja C suosittelen valitsemaan melko tasaväristä lankaa, mutta värin B kanssa voit heittäytyä hulluttelemaan. Mallihuivin langat: A: Aara Yarn Mieli värissä Jalo, B: Yarn by Stu Sock Stu värissä Hogwart’s Express, C: Rva Silmusolmu Merino Sukkis värissä Kabaree.
• Pyöröpuikot 3,5 - 4,0 mm vähintään 80-senttisellä kaapelilla. Puikkokoko riippuu neuletiheydestäsi.

Neuletiheys:

Valitse puikkokoko, jolla saavutat ainaoikeaa neuloen tiheyden 25 s/19 krs/10 cm. Huivi on tietenkin mahdollista neuloa myös tiheämmällä tai väljemmällä tiheydellä, mutta muistathan, että tiheyden muutos voi vaikuttaa myös langanmenekkiin.
