Ilayda the Water Fairy is entrusted with maintaining the delicate balance of the aquatic ecosystems throughout the world. Her wings are embroidered with a swirling pattern, symbolizing the fluidity and interconnectedness of life and water. Ilayda’s magic protects against pollution, balances water cycles, and enhances the overall health of rivers, lakes, and oceans. As she gracefully hovers over bodies of water, she is working to preserve the intrinsic connection between water and life, fostering a vibrant and thriving underwater world full of beauty for us to discover.

Notes: Ilayda, the Water Fairy, is written in US Crochet Terms. It is worked by crocheting the legs separately, then joining to create the rest of the body and head. The skirt and shirt sleeves are crocheted directly on the body. Hair, ears, arms, and wings are crocheted separately and attached by sewing to the body. It is not required to use the indicated yarn. Using a different size yarn with a suitable hook will preserve the proportions while making your amigurumi larger or smaller.
This pattern is worked in the amigurumi method, a continuous spiral. No slip stitches or chains between rounds. It is helpful to use a stitch marker to mark where you start/end your round.
