Inspired by the mindflayers of BG3.
Pattern includes:

1. main body of the Illithid (which can be worked in cotton or the chenille listed)
2. Armour pattern (crochet)
3. Armour pattern (sewing. This is a rough pattern for incase you want to make the whole armour out of felt/foam instead of crochet.)
4. Parasite pattern.

The whole pattern has a choose your own adventure theme and features a challenge/level system to help guide you through each stage.

Inventory required:
1 ball of James C Brett pure cotton in IC03 (lilac) for the body
(OR)
approximately 2 balls of Ricorumi Nilli Nilli in 011 for extra psychic damage. (To you that is. Chenille yarn is just a bit extra on the mental fortitude front if you ask me. Although I must admit a fluffy Ilithid has a certain level of cute-cursedness that just works.)
An appropriate pale pink cotton in DK for the brain. I had scraps of James C Brett, Pure cotton IC06 (I think.) but Ricorumi candy pink should work well too. Whatever you use for this part do compare fibre thickness as dk yarns vary.
1 ball of James C Brett pure cotton in IC07 (light grey),
1 ball of James C Brett pure cotton in IC20 (khaki)
1 ball of James C Brett pure cotton in IC23 (claret) for the armour.
Stuffing
2.5mm hook
2 x 10mm safety Eyes.
Sewing needle or your choice. (I prefer leather working ones or the curved ones for amigurumi.)

One skein of embroidery thread. I used Anchor cotton 140
(Optional) 5x 35cm 0.90mm Florist wire sticks for tentacles and armature.
