This multi leaf pattern has a brocade - like appearance and looks attractive from all viewpoints.

It can be knitted from any DK wool of the right tension and takes 200 - 220g / 600 - 660m / 550 - 600yd yarn (100-110g / 300-330m/ 275 - 300yd of each colour) to knit the entire cushion, back and front.

I usually find that a 100g ball of acrylic yarn of each colour will knit a cushion of this size but some wools may just take a few grams more!

You will need an 18” by 18” (46cm by 46cm) cushion pad.

To make up, the front and back squares are seamed right side to right side along the cast on and cast off edges plus one of sides. The cover is then turned inside out to insert the cushion. The remaining side edges are turned in a little and a running stitch will keep this seam in place.

I have designed my own pattern layout, which is very easy to follow. It is colour blocked to give the overall design and has also clear instructions in knit and purl which can be read off as in a written pattern.

It can be printed out or used on a PC or an ipad.
If you haven’t got a colour printer the highlighted pattern blocks can easily be followed in black and white.

There is a tracking bar by the side of the pattern which ensures you can keep your place by counting motif or background rows. This bar can be tagged with the colours you are using.

I prefer to print out a pattern and fold it under as I go along.

I’ve enjoyed designing this cushion and hope that you will enjoy knitting it!*
