This pattern features my original poppy design on a bright and cheerful cushion.

Any double knitting yarn with the right tension would be fine for this pattern.

To knit the entire cushion, back and front, you will need approximately 200g / 600m/ 550yds wool ( 100g in the motif colour and 100g in the background colour.

If you are new to illusion knitting you will find my pattern layout very easy to follow. It is colour blocked to show the overall design and each row can be read in clear knit and purl instructions as in a written pattern.

At the left hand side there is also a tracking column to keep your place in the pattern by counting motif and background bars.

The pattern can be printed on 4 sheets of standard printer paper, or read from a PC or Ipad. If you don’t have a colour printer, the highlighted pattern can still easily be followed in black and white.

The paper pattern can be folded under as you progress through the pattern to keep you on the right row.
