The Ilta pullover is knitted seamlessly top down holding two strands of lace weight silk mohair together. The pullover is light, airy and loose fitting, designed especially with the cool, end of the summer evenings in mind. The word Ilta means evening in Finnish.

The Ilta pullover is very beginner friendly, and is suitable as a first sweater project. For more advanced knitters there is optional neck shaping with German short rows. All techniques are explained in this pattern.

4.0 mm / US 6 circular needles with a cable of 40 cm / 16 inches, for the neckline
4.0 mm / US 6 DPNs or circular needles with a cable suitable for small circumference knitting, for the cuffs
4.0 mm / US 6 circular needles with a cable of 80 cm / 32 inches for the smaller sizes or 100 cm / 40 inches for the larger sizes, for the hem
5.0 mm / US 8 circular needles with a cable of 40 cm / 16 inches, for the neckline on all sizes and for the sleeves for sizes 4-8
5.0 mm / US 8 DPNs or circular needles with a cable suitable for small circumference knitting, for the sleeves for sizes 1-3 only

Gauge
16 sts and 25 rounds = 10 cm / 4 inches of Stockinette stitch in the round on larger needles, after blocking
