Welcome to the first pattern of Year of Meditation! This design is for Imbolc, which is February 2. Beginning the socks at Yule should allow enough time to complete your project and have the chance to wear your socks while sipping something warm on Imbolc. Included is a mini-magazine with a recipe, information about rabbits, and a meditation. May it bring you a feeling of peace and security.

This is a wonderfully simple design of cables that have enough repetition to be meditative while still keeping your interest to the end. The design represents the the twists and turns of a rabbit warren as well as rising up from the deep earth. It would look great with tonal, gradient and handspun.

You’ll need a skein of yarn (between 275-375 yards, depending on the length you make) and your favorite needles. You also might like to have handy your favorite mug of coffee or tea, a bouquet of flowers, or even a happy song list playing in the background.

Yarn

Any weight yarn will work with this as long as your gauge (yarn/needle combination) creates a fabric that will drape nicely around your neck. This pattern will work well with any gradient, solid, or semisolid colors.

Notions

Needles used in sample: US 5 (3.75 mm)
