Pulling inspiration from the Japanese stitch dictionaries of Hitomi Shida and the designer’s travels to the Imperial Palace in Kyoto, Japan, the Imperial Gardens Sweater uses relatively simple stitches to create an intricate design full of flowing lines. This sweater is worked in pieces from the bottom up and seamed.

Yarn Manos del Uruguay Milo (65% Merino wool, 35% linen; 380 yd 350 m/ 3 ½ oz 100 g): #i7099 Zinc, 3 (4, 4, 5, 5, 6, 6, 7) skeins. Yarn distributed by Fairmount Fibers.

Needles Size 4 (3.5 mm). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
