Imperial Heart Crochet Block
Crochet and knitting are not all that’s out there (Gasp! I know!) Sometimes inspiration reaches out from other sources, like quilts.
This pattern is for a lacey block and may be what’s needed for a special project or a small project to take on the road. The blocks work up in less than 15 minutes (for advanced crocheters).
This pattern is reminiscent of vintage pineapple quilt blocks or motifs, except with a royal flavor and feel. With a little imagination, this block came together in no time. Originally the end product apparently resembled another artist’s scarf, so I “frogged” that one and recreated this simple block based on the same design of pineapple quilt blocks (with a twist!).
Best worked in crochet thread; however, it can be made with yarns of most any type. Gauge is not particular in this pattern, as that will be determined by the yarn you select.
Build several in a row, box, or other shapes to create your own royal art work! Borders are not necessary if you want to create a more lacey, feminine look and feel for this piece.
