This is a hat that I knit for our local hats for kids project this year. In fact, I knit 8 different versions using yarns in aran, chunky and worsted weights. It’s a quick and easy knit, with just enough interest so you won’t be bored, but simple enough that you can knit and watch your favorite tv show.

The hat features a deep ribbed band, accented with twisted stitches. The body of the hat is an easy-peasy stockinette.

NOTE: While the two sample hats featured in this pattern were knit using an aran weight yarn, the pattern works well with chunky weight yarn, too, using the same needle size. When I knit one in worsted weight yarn, I did go down a needle size.
