This lace stole pattern is an original design by Deb Kessler of Fearless Fibers. It’s knit with Fearless Fibers Laceweight Merino Yarn (or an alternative fine yarn that has approximately 400 yards to two ounces) using US #4 (3.5 mm) needles. The blocked and finished stole measures approximately 20” X 68”.

The stole is constructed by knitting two identical halves and grafting them together at the center back. There are two pattern sections, one with a four-row repeat and one with an eight-row repeat, providing enough variation to keep the project interesting while also keeping the pattern easy to follow and track. The stitch motifs follow a wing-link V shape, like birds in flight. Instructions are provided in both written and charted form.

The first two photos show the stole knit in FF Laceweight Merino in the “Majestic” colorway and the closeup photos show it in the “Philosophy” colorway.
