In the beginning is my first knitted pattern, hence the name. You will need to be able to knit,  but don’t panic if you haven’t attempted stranded colourwork before.  This is a simple pattern that will help you gain confidence in this technique.  The pattern is intentionally busy to help you gain expertise in colourwork knitting, but after every pattern repeat there are also rounds of a single colour to give you a bit of a break. For the most part, you will not be exceeding 3 sts of the same colour, which makes it very easy for you to knit without worrying about catching floats. As always I provide lots of information about which yarn to choose and the techniques involved.  As the pattern is easily customisable, I include details for knitting a cowl, as well as an infinity scarf, yes, two patterns in just one download. I also provide gauge and yarn requirements for both an acrylic dk weight, and merino dk weight.
I hope you will enjoy knitting this.
