In the Beginning God Cloth
In the beginning, God created the Heavens and the Earth….
Then God said, “Let there be light” and there was light. (Genesis 1:1-3)
It seems like it was so simple. He “spoke” and
incredible things happened. As knitters, we need to make just a little bit more effort than speaking, but thanks to Our Heavenly Father we can create all kinds of fun things with two sticks and some string, and they do not have to be as big as what He did. This washcloth will help teach you the basics of knitting and open a whole new world of adventures for you.
This is a knit and purl tutorial. There are detailed stitch definitions for everything we do in this cloth: cast on, knit, purl, slip one stitch with yarn in front, and bind off. The practice piece has both charted and written instructions so you can check your work both ways. After learning these skills and building your confidence, move on to the full sized cloth that has the same stitch pattern (shown on pattern title page), only bigger.
Have fun! And remember: One stitch at a time!
