This top is worked in one piece starting from the front hem, with immediate increases to create a circle hem and hip shaping. It decreases at the waist and then again for the armholes. The stitch pattern switches to lace openwork at your desired height for chest coverage. Once the neckline is reached, the work continues seamlessly over one shoulder and down half of the back, following the curves of the front with matching increases and decreases. The other shoulder and back are worked in mirror image, then button bands are picked up. Lastly, the sides are seamed and buttons attached up the spine.
