Ina socks
In Önling, we absolutely love the “Dahlia” pattern, which is used in sweaters and t-shirts. So, naturally, we needed
to have a sock in the Dahlia family as well. The pattern is worked on the leg and the top side of the sock, with
stockinette stitch on the underside.

The sock features a well-fitting shadow wrap heel, which is incredibly easy to knit. In the Ina sock, the construction
allows you to choose to knit a gusset for extra room around the heel. We’ve knitted the sock in our soft and durable
Önling No 18, made from 75% non-superwash wool and 25% recycled PET (plastic) bottles.

Sizes
Small (size 36-37/US 5.5-6.5),
Medium (size 38-39/US7-8.5),
Large (size 40-42/US9.5-11.5)

The sizes can be adjusted so that you can choose to
knit according to the stitch count for size small if you
have narrow feet and knit them to the desired length.
Conversely, you can knit according to the stitch count for
size L if you have wide feet.

Materials
50(75)75 g Önling No 18, 420 m pr 100 g, 4 ply sock wool
- non superwash with recycled bottles

2.5mm circular needle with a 60cm length or 2.5mm
double-pointed needles (DPNs)
2 stitch markers

Yarn alternativ
The socks can be knit using various sock yarns with an
approximate yardage of 400 meters per 100 grams.

Gauge
32 stitches x 47 rows per 10 cm on a 2.5mm circular
needle

Procedure
The Ina sock is knit from the cuff, down over the heel
and the foot, and finishes with a rounded toe. The sock
is knitted on a circular needle using the magic loop
method, but you can certainly use double-pointed
needles if you prefer.

A sock with a shadow wrap heel consists of the following
sections: ribbing, leg, first and second halves of the heel,
which are knit with twin and triple stitches, foot, and toe.
For extra room around the heel, you can choose to knit a
small gusset before working the heel. These stitches are
decreased again after the heel.
