Child’s sweater featuring bright colors and lovely border of dancing boys and girls. Sweater is worked partially in stranded two-color knitting. Sweater body is worked in the round to the shoulder line with steeks for the armhole openings. Front neck shaping is sewn and cut during finishing. Sleeves are worked in the round with facings at upper edges to cover the raw edges of the steeked armhole openings.
Finished Measurements:
Chest 17½ (20½, 22, 25, 28, 29½)“ / 44.5 (52, 56, 63.5, 71, 75) cm
Yarn: Fingering-weight, super fine yarn
- About 50 (60, 70, 80, 90, 110) grams of main color (A)
- About 40 (50, 60, 70, 80, 90) grams of second color (B)
- About 15 (20, 25, 30, 35, 40) grams each of two contrasting colors (C6 and C7)
- Small amounts of eight other contrasting colors (C1, C2, C3, C4, C5, C8, C9, and C10)
- Model in book used Isager Alpaca 2 (50% merino, 50% alpaca; 247m / 270yds; 50g / 1.76oz): 1 (2, 2, 2, 2, 3) skeins of Color A; 1 (1, 2, 2, 2, 2) skeins of Color B; 1 skein of each Color C1-C10.
Needles:
- Sweater body and sleeves - size 3.0 mm / US 2, 40 cm / 16” and 60 cm / 24” circular needles, and set of 4 or 5 double-pointed needles
- Sweater facings and neckband - size 2.5 mm / US 1, 40 cm / 16” and 60 cm / 24” circular needles, and set of 4 or 5 double-pointed needles
- Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain correct gauge
