The story of this top – it was meant to be a full, long sleeve sweater, but as I was knitting it, it just looked so tiny. I kept checking my gauge swatch and notes and going back and forth. It should be right, why did it look so stupidly small? I kept going though, but got stalled at the sleeves when I started really doubting the size. It sat under some other projects for quite a while and when it finally saw the light of day again, I had had it. I started ripping it out, sleeve first. Then, I thought maybe it might be smart to put it on my daughter (the lovely model) and try to figure out what went wrong. Well, nothing went wrong. It fit her perfectly and just as intended. As I picked at it and stared in disbelief, mumbling about the sleeves and the collar, she said, “Um, I’d wear it just like this.” And then I really looked at her – and she was totally right. It looked super cute as is, so we decided to let it be just the way it wanted to be. It is super quick, fun knit, and really comfy!
