Every year, I look for something I can knit quickly for holiday gifts that the recipients will not only like, but that they will actually use. Well this year, I think I hit the jackpot and I hope you do, too!

This project was inspired by a cowl I saw on a television commercial. The one I saw wasn’t nearly as cute and was knit much looser. This is not only a quick knit, but it is versatile because it can be worn up over your head on those really cold days or as a decorative cowl. It is so stylish your friends are sure to envy it and want one of their own.

I designed this pattern for Beginners, but I included techniques often used by Intermediate and Advanced knitters. None of the techniques are so difficult that an ambitious beginner couldn’t pull them off. So I challenge all of the beginning knitters out there to dare to stretch beyond your comfort zone. You will be amazed at what you can accomplish with just a little bit more backbone and some bravery!
