Make these socks using solid or semi solid yarn to show off the stitches, or with multi-coloured yarn to show off the yarn. The Indian Cross stitch that forms the legs looks more complicated to work than it is, and the plain stocking stitch foot allows the leg to take all the glory.
The socks are worked toe-up with a flap-and-gusset heel. Three sizes are offered, Small (to fit 7”/18cm foot circumference), Medium (to fit 8”/20cm foot circumference) and Large (to fit 9”/23cm foot circumference) when worked to pattern tension of 9 sts to 1”/2.5cm.

You will need: up to 400 yards (360m) of fingering weight sock yarn, 2mm (US 0) needles for knitting in the round (or size needed to achieve correct tension), and a darning needle for weaving in ends.

You need to be able to: work in the round, work an appropriate cast-on for a toe-up sock
