Indigo Bucket Hat
-
This pattern is designed for a medium adult head. It is recommended to try on hat intermediately while working.
-
This pattern is worked in a spiral, so there is no chaining to start the next row and you are not turning your work.
-
Recommended to use a stitch marker at the beginning of each row.
-
Example hat uses a tight gage to make fabric sturdy and to get maximum sun protection. Please choose the hook size based on how tight you like to work.
-
Since the gage is so tight it is recommended to crochet over loose ends because it can be difficult to weave them in instead.
-
This pattern puts increases in alternating places to avoid straight edges on the brim of the hat. If all the increases are put in the same spot on each row the brim will be shaped like a hexagon instead of a round shape. If you don’t want to count all the stitches between increases, just make sure that the same amount of increases are added per row and that the increases are staggered.
