This is an Intermediate level knit. It includes a simple cable pattern, which beginners have found easy. It uses any Wortsed/Aran/ Medium weight yarn- yarn weight 4. The pattern instructions are given for knitting in the round, and for knitting on straight needles. The hat can be knit in 5 sizes ,and is suitable for men and women. It uses a single skein/ball of yarn -50g/ 1.7 oz. It looks great in any color and also in variegated / multicolored yarns.
