This is a pattern for a cabled laceweight shawl. This is the perfect shawl for an air conditioned restaurant, or chilly fall or spring evening. The cable stitch is an unusual one, but is easily learned, once worked. It adds a bit of dimension to the very light weight shawl.

The pattern also has instructions for an optional bead crocheted edging, should you elect to finish it in the same way as shown in the photographs. It only requires knowledge of a single crochet stitch, and you can edge the shawl in the same material, or one coordinating. I used a silk thread (FFF) that’s available on Etsy, Ebay, Amazon and most LBS’s). It’s not difficult, should you want to dress up the shawl.

Skill Level: Intermediate (assuming a basic knowledge of cable knitting).

The stitch is both charted and written out line by line.
