The Inishturk Cowl is named for a small island off the west coast of Mayo in Ireland.

The cables in this cowl meander upwards like the rocks and the paths on this beautiful island, that rises boldly from the wild Atlantic, in wall-like cliffs to the northwest and steep hills to the north.

Much thought was put into making this cowl a relaxing experience for you. Mosaic charts are offered in both light on dark and dark on light so that you don’t have to try and switch them in your head. And the cables are created without a cable needle.

This mosaic cowl is a fast and engaging knit, that you will not be able to put down. You will be saying, ‘just one more row’.

Designed in two colors, this fingering weight cowl uses only 120 yards of each color, which means you can make more than one cowl from two contrasting skeins of yarn. It’s easy enough for a confident beginner knitter but engaging enough for an advanced one. It’s a quick stash-busting project available in one size.

Needle: US 3 (3.25 mm), 16” (40 cm) circular needle or needles needed to get gauge.

Suggested Yarn: Jilly & Kiddles, Smart Sock Fingering Weight, 1 skein in each of 2 colors 100% Superwash Merino wool; 400 yds (370 m)/100 g or any fingering weight yarn of your choosing.

Sample uses: Main Color: Path Less Traveled, 120 yds (110 m) Contrast Color: Low Fat Milk, 115 yds (105 m)

Gauge: 30 stitches/44 rounds = 4” (10 cm) square in pattern using US 3 (3.25 mm) needles or whatever size needle gives you the fabric you would like.
