Initiation marks the crossing of a threshold into new knowledge and abilities. Open the door to learning new skills with this double-sided cowl. If you are unfamiliar with some of these techniques, this is a fantastic opportunity to challenge yourself and proudly emerge on the other side with a hard-earned work of wearable art!

This piece is knit in the round and grafted closed at the end. Completely reversible, this cowl features a unique design both inside and out.
Charts, as well as written instructions, are available for the colorwork.

From a cozy fit to help block the winter chill, to a more relaxed fit perfect for showing off your handiwork.

The blonde model is wearing the Medium size, the brunette model is wearing the Small size.

Easily adjust the circumference by adding or subtracting chart repeats!

Provisional Cast-On, knit, purl, lifeline (optional), stranded colorwork, Garter Kitchener Stitch

This pattern is designed for a DK weight yarn
I used HiKoo® Sueño
80% Merino Wool, 20% Bamboo, 1 hank equals 100g /255y (3.5oz / 233m)

SMALL Yarn Requirements
MC - 1 ball - 255yds (233m)
CC - 1 ball - 255yds (233m)

MEDIUM Yarn Requirements
MC - 2 balls - 390yds (357m)
CC - 2 balls - 390yds (357m)

NEEDLES + NOTIONS
Two pairs of 16 (24)” US 5 (3.75cm) circular needles
The second pair is to graft stitches in finishing, can also use a smaller gauge
Size F crochet hook (for provisional cast-on), contrasting color waste yarn, tapestry needle, 9 (12) stitch markers, scissors

GAUGE
26 sts & 32 rows = 4” (10 cm) in colorwork
Approx. 6.5 x 8 sts per 1” (2.5 cm) after blocking
