Inner Peace
Crocheting is a very healthy, peaceful and low tech mind-clearing activity. When crocheting an easy pattern you can turn off your brain and relax. Most of the crocheters and knitters I know look forward to their crochet and knit therapy every day, and it’s the highlight of their day.
The scarf starts out with the first yarn color and a few stitches, and expands slowly with a very easy two-row repeat. One edge increases while the other edge makes a slight decrease forming a modified boomerang shape. Then, at a specific width, you change to your coordinating second color of yarn and you start crocheting the feather and fan section. Again, it’s an easy two-row repeat, and you will add in four accent rows with your first yarn color.
I love the feather and fan stitch pattern in both crochet and knitting because it creates beautiful and satisfying ripples. My inspiration comes from knitting quite a few scarves with the feather and fan stitch pattern. I hope that you enjoy the stitch pattern too, and that you get a peaceful feeling while crocheting this scarf.
