As a child, my mother would knit reversible mohair hats for me and my siblings every winter. My favorite was a neon multicolor and black combination that I’m pretty sure I lost at the mall in my teens (sorry, Mom!). This design is inspired by those toasty hats but is made in sport weight wool instead way less fuzzy but still just as warm with a double-thickness of cozy stockinette. Whether you’ve got a sports fan on your knit list or a Jekyll & Hyde toddler or teen, this hat has endless color, yarn, and sizing possibilities. Totally reversible and totally fun, the Innie Outie Hat is a winner in winter: from my family to yours!
