The ancient Aran patterns and the Seed Stitch Eton collar bespeak old-fashioned quality in this baby’s Aran cardigan.

Knit on #5 needles, using the Blackberry Stitch, the Gordian Knot and the Diamond with Moss, this design requires smooth worsted spun yarns to enhance these traditional stitches, and add depth and impact to the intricate needlework. Buttons of bone or mother-of-pearl are a good compliment to the design.

Innisfree is especially wonderful knit in Superwash wool. It requires the skills of a seasoned intermediate knitter.
