This pattern is written in English Beginner Level This pattern involves step-by-step instructions. Also links to the supporting videos of the knitting techniques are included. Sizing is for teen through average adult head 54-56cm/ 21 – 22”). Hat width (measured along the ribbing bottom in an unstretched condition) – 23 cm/ 9”.
MATERIALS AND TOOLS:
Suggested yarn:
Holst Garn Cielo 42% Baby Alpaca, 42% Merino, 16% Polyamide 50g/ 125m (136yds), colour No 002 Chimney 1 skein (hat cuff) + 1 skein No 16 (hat body and crown).
• A pair of 3.25mm (US 3, UK 10) 40cm (16”) circular needles for 2x2 ribbing. You can knit with longer needles if the Magic loop technique is used.
• A pair of 3.75mm (US 5, UK 9) 40cm (16”) circular needles for the hat body. You can knit with longer needles if the Magic loop technique is used.
• Tapestry needle to weave in loose ends.
• Measuring tape
• Scissors
GAUGE (TENSION) approximate:
23-24 sts x 37 rows = 10 x 10 cm (4 x 4 inches) in 2x2 ribbing after washing and blocking. The swatch is made in the round with 3.25mm (US 3, UK 10) knitting needles.
