With reference to the well-known “pea problem” that a princess once happened to have, the Princess Sole consists in the smoothest, softest of all soles, with the “right side” of the stocking stitch in contact with the skin, and the naughty purl bumps on the outside of the sock.

Working a Princess Sole is most of the time synonymous with Purling though. Thus creating another well-known problem in the knitting community: the widely spread avoidance for major purling events! But… this was before the creation of the Inside-Out Hypnosis socks: the comfort of the Princess Sole, and hardly any purling…

  • 2.25 mm (US 1) needles (circ. or DPNs) - Or size required to achieve gauge.
