Inside the Box
Inside the Box is a summer tee where the front has an intriguing stitch pattern and the back has the va-va-voom-factor. The front features a repetitive graphic pattern of circles that fit nicely inside squares (that is easy to memorise while knitting). Two cables frame the front pattern panel. The sassier back, with a deep opening and many small buttons, is revealed as soon as you turn around.
Knitted bottom-up to the underarms, then separated for the armholes to be joined again at the shoulders. This is a quick and fun way of renewing your summer wardrobe. Using only a few balls of soft Opal Kapok, it won’t hurt your budget too much either. Opal Kapok is a mix of 85% Cotton and 15% Kapok. Kapok? Yes, Kapok is the most common name for a tree that is cultivated for cotton-like fluff obtained from its seed pods. Kapok is also known as Java cotton, Java kapok, silk-cotton, samauma, or ceiba.
Sizes
XS (S, M, L, XL, XXL)
This tee has been designed to have 5 cm / 2” positive ease. It will also look great a bit oversized, so you can go up one size if you like.
The smallest version in the photos (in yellow) is achieved by having a tighter gauge (ca 25 sts) and following the pattern for size XS.
Gauge
20 sts / 32 rows = 10 x 10 cm / 4”x 4” over stocking stitch on needle size 3mm after blocking.
Needles
3.5 mm / US4 circular needles 80 cm / 40” or slightly longer AND 1 extra needle for 3-needle bind-off.
Bigger needle 4-5 mm / US6-8 circular needle for cast-on OR you can use a stretchy cast-on method.
Always use a needle size that will result in the correct tension after blocking!
