You’ll have this simple cowl done in a jiffy…. a snuggle for your neck.
Knit it up in 3-4 hours, the perfect quick knit for emergency gift giving. It’s the lush wools that really make it I think - one can never go wrong with a bit of mohair and silk.
It’s reversible too, although the sides are fraternal rather than identical twins.
Don’t be scared of this two-colour slipped stitch pattern - you’re only working with one wool at a time to create this fabulous tweedy texture - so give it a go! This is a great one for using up leftovers as it looks great striped. And don’t let the subtle combination in my version fool you - this cowl would look great with high contrast colours!
Two sizes included:
Double loop cowl - 44” circumference; Single loop cowl - 24” circumference; 7” depth (with edge rolled)
Gauge as above, worked in striped slipped stitch pattern.
Materials:
100g skein of Debbie Bliss Winter Garden (used all of this thin super chunky - it’s more like a bulky/chunky weight wool)
100g skein of Rowan Cocoon (used approx. 60g of this wool)*
7mm & 8mm 80cm circular needles
Each set of 2 rounds takes about 5g of wool, so if you find you’re using it up quickly make sure you leave 12-15g to work the last 2 rounds and the cast off.
