This playful summer top is knitted in garter stitch from the bottom up. It is covered in abstract colourful shapes that are created using the intarsia technique.

The front and back are knitted seperately and sewn together in the end.
First, work the bottom rib and continue working in garter stitch up to the armhole decreases. Work each triangle seperately, decreasing on both sides. Then, work the straps in double knitting.
To finish your top, close the side seams and graft the straps together at the top.

This knitting pattern comes with knit charts for two different samples. Sample 1 includes rather graphic shapes, loosely arranged and sample 2 includes a pattern of organic shapes and lines, which covers the whole top.

The back and the front are worked in the same way,
but with different motifs on both sides. Later, you can decide which motif you want to wear to the front, as the construction is identical.

22 stitches and 39 rows equals 10 x10 cm / 4 x 4 inches

Yarn:
You can either use two strands of fingering weight yarn held
together or one strand of DK yarn.
As the shapes in the motif use only a small amount of yarn, this is a great project for using up leftover odds and ends in your yarn stash.

Pascuali PUNO (70% organic cotton, 30% alpaca wool, 200m / 218yds per 50g) held double, in three different undyed colour shades (20, 24, 28) combined with three naturally dyed shades.

Yarn used in sample 2: This sample is created using a combination of leftovers from the stash, creating vibrant colours by holding several strands of yarn together. As all yarns have different yardage, the amount is given in gram.
