Interlocked Hat
I originally made this hat for my partner, and I liked it so much I ended up knitting another! This is the perfect hat for brisk wintery days. The cables intertwine with each other across the hat, hence the name. It’s a quick knit that can easily be done over a weekend, and only uses one 100g skein of Worsted or Aran yarn.
This hat is one size, designed to fit most adult heads. The length of the ribbing can be altered to fit a range of sizes, and the pattern gives instructions for getting a perfect fit.
Gauge: 18 sts and 27 rows = 10cm x 10cm (4” x 4”) in st st on 4.5 mm needles after blocking
I used Cascade 220 Heathers for this hat. Other yarn that test knitters used include:
- Regal by Briggs & Little
- Vanna’s Choice by Lion Brand
- Merit Solid by Phentex
- Valley Superwash by Valley Yarns
You will also need:
- 4mm (US 6) double pointed needles, or size needed to obtain gauge
- 4.5mm (US 7) double pointed needles, or size needed to obtain gauge
- Cable needle
- Stitch marker
- Tapestry needle
Once bought, you’ll receive a standard PDF and a mobile version of the PDF.
