Interlocking Tiles Collar
This pattern is a part of the Designers’ Dogs collaboration, the brainchild of Handworks NW and Knitted Wit. The collection is a love letter to our pups. Lorajean and her dyers created ten beautiful colors inspired by the best doggo friends of ten talented designers, and they created some real magic. Knitted Wit DK is the featured yarn, and each of the ten accessory patterns are wonderful to work with and wear while hanging with your furry friend. Get the whole collection for $33 through 4/4/20, or snag this pattern on its own!
This collar has a deeply squishy texture thanks to Tunisian crochet, a technique where each row has a forward pass where you pick up loops on a long hook, then a return pass where you work across those stitches and end with just one loop on your hook. The stitches of each row overlap with the rows before and after for a texture reminiscent of subway tile or bricks, and because of the overlapping nature, this is a great choice for a variegated yarn.
