Interpretations
The scarf is knit in the round and includes subtle shaping to improve the drape compared to typical tube scarves. It’s my interpretation of a thick and thin concept that’s been popular for years, updated for current styles and the new yarns available.
It’s fast, it’s simple and it makes a spectacular impact as a gift. It is the scarf that most often gets comments from complete strangers. It’s incredibly lovely to wear, barely noticeable but still warm. You’ll want to pick a light-weight yarn like the single-ply Mochi Plus used in some of the samples.
More about Gauge and Sizes
Due to the loose gauge, the poncho has a lot of stretch. We’ve listed it at 3 sts per inch but it easily stretches to 2 sts per inch as long as you cast on nice and loosely. Both use about 95 yards of main yarn and 200 yards of the fine mohair.
