These mitts are a true combination of form and function. The merino/silk blend adds a delicate shine and feel of luxury to an elegant pair of mitts. Whether you choose the mittens or fingerless mitts, these Interrupted Swirl mitts will take you comfortably from winter to spring. Silk has the wonderful ability to keep you comfortable and cool in spring and warm in winter.

The wrist cuff is worked flat, creating a scallop shape which echoes the smooth flowing swirls on the back of the hand. The broken rib pattern on the palm of the hand provides enough stretch to accommodate most hand sizes. These mitts use the same motif as appears in my Swirl sock pattern, one of my most popular.

Two skeins of Indigodragonfly Merino Silk 4 ply sock yarn will be enough to create both the hat and mitts as written. One skein will provide generous yardage for a pair of mitts.

Options: Pattern includes instructions for both fingerless mitts and mitten.

Instructions: Both written and charted instructions are provided.

Size: Difference in size is achieved by using different size needles. 2mm needles for Small, 2.25mm for Medium.
