This is a match for my “Intersectionality Hat”

The name for this pattern is inspired by thinking of our individual intersections. What makes us who we are. We are all complex and interconnected beings. You are so important. You matter.

It comes from two inspirations…

We don’t have a term for reciprocal interconnectedness in English. In 1987 the Vietnamese Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh had suggested we adopt the word “interbeing” to express this. Things are not by themselves, they inter-are with all the circumstances that made them possible. I inter-am and you inter-are with the vast universe of which we are part.

In 1989, Kimberlé Crenshaw coined the term “intersectionality” It is a term to describe the intersections of experience including race, gender, sex, sexuality, class, ability, nationality, citizenship, religion, body type, etc. All these influence the way we each interact and feel within this world due to our experiences in it, our intersectionality.*

I had a lot of fun making and designing these mitts and gloves and matching hat. Thinking and honoring all the Intersectionalities.
Big love to you all.
