The Intertidal zone is the section of shoreline that exists between tide marks. Despite being an environment of harsh extremes, the intertidal zone is home to a variety of marine life, in particular, oysters.

The body of this scarf is composed of row upon row of Oyster Stitch Clusters, and the color resembles the constantly shifting shades of waves breaking on the beach. The stitch patterns provide the delicacy of lace, paired with enough body and texture to make this piece wearable even on chilly days.

Intertidal is knitted width-wise with a garter stitch border until nearly the end, when the scarf is put on waste yarn. A coordinating edging is then knitted and grafted on using kitchener stitch.
