The Intertwined Hat is companion to my Intertwined Mitts. Both use the same main pattern as appears in my Intertwined sock pattern, one of my most popular.

Skills needed: working in the round, cables (1/1 cables), knit, purl. This is a great pattern to practice cabling without a cable needle. Links to several cabling without a needle tutorials are included in the pattern.

Instructions: Both written and charted instructions are provided.

Size: Medium (Large). Hat is 17”(21”) in circumference, 8” cast on edge to crown, blocked and laid flat.

Materials

  • Approximately 430 yards (393m) of Indigodragonfly Merino/Silk sock yarn (1 skein= 430yd/393m per 3oz/100g), or similar. Sample knit in “Daleks Don’t Give out Pink Slips” colorway.

  • 1 set of 5 US #1 2.25mm (2.75mm) double-point or circular needles, or size needles required to obtain gauge.

  • Tapestry needle, cable needle (optional), stitch marker
